3 Types of Garden Lights Worth Considering

With the advent of the era of solar lights, the average person can now afford what used to be the prerogative of wealthy people. Although a sizable initial investment may be needed for purchasing the lights themselves, people can have an evening lighting system for their gardens without having to pay anything for the power needed to run it. At the very least, everyone should have three basic kinds of solar lights.

Accent lights

Despite their name, accent lights are not really just meant for giving an accent to your garden. Their real and practical purpose is to illuminate locations in your garden that, for some reason, need to be identified. That may be because anyone shouldn't be approaching or moving through that area in darkness. This could be a deep slope in the terrain, a portion of the lot which is often wet and therefore muddy and slippery, a prickly rose hedge and anything else that you don't want your visitors coming near to at night because of the dangers it poses for them.

Path lights

Path lights are ground lights that may be slightly elevated from the garden floor and lined on either side of pathways and walks. There are very often short metal poles on which are mounted solar light. Or they can be solar rock lights that are lined up on the sides of garden steps. Along with accent lights, path lights are for the protection of your visitor, so that he does not, for instance, trip on the path steps.

Something that is akin in function to path lights are the step lights. These are slabs of durable polyethylene or processed polyresin which have a solar panel on their upper sides as well as a built-in LED lights. These remain embedded in the pavement and recharge themselves every night. You find them in different shapes. There are rounded ones as well as polygonal ones. The led light may be located in the center of the stone step or around it.

Solar step lights are most often created with very hard polyethylene plastic. At other times they are constructed of processed polyresin. They embedded in or on the sides of the garden path. The solar panels are charged during the day and light up automatically in the late afternoon.

The light they emit is very noticeable, specially at night. Some fancy solar steps have multicolored led lights. these are the ones which can be made to display variously colored lights to entertain visitors and guests.

Spot lights

This type of garden lighting fixture throws light on a wide area of the garden. They are really meant for surveillance at night. In this regard, solar spotlights may be made to swivel back and forth. They can be very helpful in making bad elements stay away from the house premises The other types of LED lights are mostly decorative in nature. If your garden is not all that spacious, there won't be much need for installing elaborate solar lighting equipment in it.
